Manufacturing route card system with Xero integration.

The company had an existing manual system for filling out route cards. When parts are created – a route card needs to be created. There may be numerous route cards for a single order. E.g. An order may contain 10 line items. The items can be created at different times and signed off on.
 

A system was built using ASP.NET and C#.

How My System Solved It

Route card PDF generation, digital signatures, and automated invoice creation

I built a web application with .NET MVC that generated route card PDFs, added signatures and then sent the signed document to Xero, attaching it to the invoice.

File system watcher scanning OneDrive folders

The software allows setting Windows paths in the config file. These folders then watch for *.PDF files that appear e.g. when a file lands in a folder after being scanned. This is then sent to a database.

Attaching delivery notes to Xero invoices via OCR or input

Once the file is in the database further processing takes place which finds the invoice in Xero and attaches it.

Matching supplier DNs to purchase orders

A further addon I made to this software was sending supplier delivery notes to the corresponding purchase order in Xero.

I used .NET and different architectural patterns. I implemented file system watcher, save to database, scheduled task for processing pending records and sending them to Xero. I also coded solutions to get Xero tokens for no ongoing cost.
